About Emma Jane Champley & Her Jewellery
How did I get here?
I graduated in Jewellery & Silversmithing from Loughborough College of Art and Design in 1994 before moving south to work at a leading Studio in London’s Clerkenwell, just round the corner from Hatton Garden. I spent ten years in the big smoke learning about the jewellery trade and honing my making skills. In 2004 I came to rural Ireland to make beautiful County Carlow my home.
What do I do?
My greatest passion is working with Silver and Gold, exploring these precious metals’ capabilities and showcasing them in their purest form. I employ simple, elegant shapes that are highly polished, matt or roughly hammered. I am inspired by the versatility precious metals offer and I design to complement the human form. I create both one of a kind commissioned pieces and statement collections. I am a member of the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland, a tutor for the Kilkenny & Carlow Educational Training Board and a founding member of Form Carlow.
Where can you buy my work?
You can buy my jewellery from the shop on this site. I have a limited edition of ready made as well as some one off pieces available for purchase. Please get in touch if you see something which is not stocked, a lot of my work is made to order/measure.
You can view my entire collection at The Store in the Gate Lodge of Borris House, County Carlow. I run this small, selectively stocked Craft and Design shop with Leiko Uchiyama. We are both passionate about showcasing the best handmade in Ireland products and I am available to meet here by appointment.
